Self-hosted or hosted: Compare the two

Compare: PSA and service desk

Syncro alternative: Tenvara

Syncro combines a PSA and an RMM in one product, priced per user with unlimited endpoints, and is popular with smaller MSPs. Tenvara covers the same two halves in one app and adds backup, security monitoring, documentation, chat and scheduling on the same agent. The biggest difference is billing: Syncro invoices and takes payments itself, while Tenvara hands invoices to Xero.

Switching

Moving from Syncro

A calm move, not a big bang. Run both side by side until your team is happy.

  1. 1

Set up customers, sites and contacts

There is no automatic import from Syncro, so add your customers, their sites and the contacts who raise tickets. Contact email addresses matter, as mail is matched on them.

  2. 2

Deploy the Tenvara agent alongside Syncro

Install the Tenvara agent next to the Syncro agent. Monitoring, patching and remote control start working straight away.

  3. 3

Point your support mailbox at Tenvara

Connect your Microsoft 365 support mailbox so new mail becomes tickets, and finish open tickets in Syncro.

Email to ticket and alert rules
  4. 4

Set up contracts and the Xero export

Add each customer's monthly fee, included hours and overage rate, then set your Xero account codes and tax rate for the export.

  5. 5

Run both side by side, then switch

Run a month in parallel, check the Xero export against Syncro's invoices, then remove the Syncro agent.
